Free Romany Tarot Readings for Deep Insight

I’ve seen a real drive towards Romany Tarot readings as a way of bringing guidance and wisdom into our lives. Steeped in history and culture, Romany Tarot readers have been looked to for a long time for their insight into the cards.

I don’t just want to give you simple card descriptions and let you piece together the meaning for yourself. If you want a complete Romany spread, I can do an actual free Tarot reading for you (within the hour) or, if you prefer to do it yourself, I can show you some common Romany layouts.

Or, if you prefer, I can show you how to do one for yourself.

How to Do a Romany Tarot Spread

How to Do a Romany Tarot Spread

Often a Romany spread is done by someone from that culture and tradition but if you do want to do it yourself you can certainly draw inspiration from their Tarot practice.

You could use a Romany-themed deck or a more general tarot deck. The important thing is to use cards that you feel drawn to and that you resonate with. There are some trends like the kind of layout you use.

If you’re using a themed Romany tarot deck, the suits might be represented by different things like Coins (Penny), Cups (Chalice or goblet), Wands (Rod or stick), and Swords (Knives).

You can use a spread like this to focus on any aspect or question and while they’re commonly used for a yes or no Tarot spread you can use similar layouts for an insight into any question.

A common Romany Tarot spread is the Three-Card Spread which can be used for general readings or to answer specific questions. If doing something like a past life Tarot spread you’re going to need to use a more detailed layout but for general questions, this works well.

Begin by shuffling and cleansing the Tarot deck (whichever you have decided to use) and be very clear on your question before drawing any cards. This is especially important if you’re doing a reading for yourself because we don’t want your subconscious to reword the question based on the results.

Only once you’re clear on the exact wording of your question should you draw three cards from the top and place them in a line.

Card One: The Past

The first card gives you an insight into the past in relation to the question or topic you’re asking about. We often think we remember things clearly but our memory can flog things or perhaps we were missing insight at the time.

We can’t know where we’re going without knowing where we’ve come from as they say which makes the card in this position incredibly important.

Pay careful attention to any major arcana in the past position of a Romany spread. It’s often a sign that something was missed.

Card Two: The Present

The second card in the spread gives you an insight into the present in relation to the question or topic you’re asking about. Again, we sometimes think we know everything we need to know but there’s often some insight we’re missing.

The present is a constantly moving and fluid space and it’s important to pay attention to the here and now when looking at questions like this.

This card might give you a snapshot of the situation to tie the first and third cards together but it’s likely going to take you deeper than this (unless your question was a very simple one).

This card is also important as it can show you how to improve your situation. It’s the advice card that unlocks the potential in the third card.

Card Three: The Future

The third and final card in the Romany Tarot spread gives you an insight into the future and the things to come. Remember that the deepest meaning of this card comes from its combination with the first two so don’t jump straight to this card.

Look beyond the surface meaning and try to see what the future could hold. Keep in mind that reaching this outcome might well rely on how you interpret the meaning of the second card.

This is the card of opportunity and what you can do to make the most of it when it comes. Things won’t immediately end once you’ve reached this end result and how you react will dictate the path that follows.
